Leigh Garland & Lee McNeil

are Doubly Good

Leigh & Lee have over 40 years combined experience of working across retail, fashion, healthcare, banking, manufacturing, e-commerce and more. Always at the forefront of technology and engineering, they’ve worked with web, smart devices, VR, spatial computing, AI & machine learning, IoT and dedicated hardware. Helping businesses get the best from product & engineering teams.

Working together since 2017, they are most effective taking teams from “rapid prototyping and experimentation” to “most valued product”. They’re most effective when given a challenge. Invent something new; help a new team grow; turn an unfocussed service into a user ‘must-have’. They’re talented leaders with diverse talents in delivery, product & engineering.

Leigh Garland

Leigh is a collaborative leader, skilled in team management, product and service strategy, and user-centred experience engineering. Brings unique insight and a creative perspective to challenges.

Lee McNeil

Lee is an engineering lead who excels at taking concepts to prototypes, building engineering teams and taking MVPs to market. He thrives in an innovation environment, and is happiest when given an ‘impossible’ problem to solve.

DOMINO PRINT SCIENCES

Doubly Good helped Domino R&D create a team to build out a unified data platform. Now they have a capable and dedicated internal team, rapidly building business critical services.

From measurement logging, to customer-facing configuration & analysis services, they now have a single place for fully contextualised data - meaning that they're able to take positive steps towards their goal of improving and automating decision making with AI.

Now we're more confident about how to make use of our own data to make more effective decisions and improve our automation. I would highly recommend speaking to Leigh & Lee to explore how they can support your organisation.

JOHN LEWIS VENTURES

John Lewis Partnership Ventures programme chose Lee & Leigh to manage the technical and service delivery for a number of innovative products and services.

We helped build John Lewis concierge services and AI-driven fashion advice, Waitrose food delivery services and new tech-driven insurance and finance products.

As well as working closely with the cross-disciplinary team in the UK, we also managed the 20-strong offshore UX and development teams in Ukraine.

IN NUMBERS:

  • 5 New Services devised, built and piloted in 18 months
  • 20 offshore team members managed
  • 1 Tomato*, a suitcase of spring onions and a sprinkling of AI.

SKEDULO

Skedulo chose Lee & Leigh to recruit and run a new European team to support their High frequency Covid vaccine booking system, used by many US, Canadian & Australian States and worked directly with Accenture and State government officials on rollouts, developing features, bug reports and UX.

Our EU team went on to lead the redevelopment of Skedulo’s field service workforce scheduling PVRP engine with a focus on ML inference rather than traditional routing algorithms.

ELEPHANT HEALTHCARE

Elephant chose Lee & Leigh to build and support their ElephantOS healthcare system deployed across Kenya, Uganda and Lebanon.

Doubly Good created patient, dispensing and stock management systems that can also operate in an offline mode to support and enable clinicians with poor power or signal reliability.

In 2020 when COVID emerged, Doubly Good rapidly turned around a new clinic status reporting tool using lo-fi technology that meant even the most remote clinics and surgeries could instantly report their changing needs.
